CBI Portal Operating and Privacy Policy
The CBI portal is operated a public blog and a private forum. The registered domain is cbimobpot.co.za which refers to CBI mobilising potential.
A: Fundamentals for operating CBI:
- The portal is operated explicitly Christian but non-Christians are welcome to participate.
- The portal creates community awareness and functions as an interdenominational and interactive communication tool.
- The concept of the portal can be used by any language group or culture in any community. The English language was selected as default for being the dominant business language and the cross-cultural communication medium in the South African context.
- Participation is conditional and the decision of the management is final. Interested people can visit the Focus Group sessions twice at no charge and without registering.
- The CBI basic services are conditionally provided at no charge. Cost of operating the Focus Groups is covered by donations and start-ups participating in the Inala Community Ventures programme.
- Management reserves the right to terminate the services at any reasonable time where the behaviour or conduct of the person seeking advice makes it impossible to continue with the relationship. The decision of management is final in this regard.
- CBI and its approved co-workers from the community do not accept any professional liability as no provision is made for professional indemnity insurance. However, as committed Christians we perform the community service striving for excellence.
- Participants are free to obtain independent second opinions at any time. However, the second opinion should not come from one of the approved co-workers of CBI.
- If independent professional counselling is required, the individual will be responsible for the cost associated with such services.
- The size of Focus Groups should preferably be limited to practically support participation. Guideline in this regard is 12 participants. The duration of the weekly Focus Group meetings is 90 minutes.
- For operational purposes management decisions can be taken by any two of the CBI Forum Task Team members.
- The weekly Focus Group meetings are opened with a Christian devotion and prayers.
B: Conditions for using the CBI Portal:
- First and other exploratory visits have limited read-only access.
- Committed participants are required to register.
- Only approved participants can post comments. (Managing security of the virtual platform necessitates this.)
- The registration and approval process will show your true identity on your profile. The personal data is not accessible except to the individual and the administrator. The provisions of the POPI legislation apply.
- Management reserves the right to immediately stop the access of any participant if any degrading, disrespectful or divisive comments or material are posted. Such a person will have to apply again in advance after a cooling-off period.
- Management reserves the right to act in the interests of the security of the portal and its participants in respect of any unforeseen situation or incident. Such decision is final.
- Participation in the portal activities is on a voluntary basis. Participants themselves take responsibility to protect their own interest as in any public interactive forum.
- Access to toolbox material is limited.
- The administration of the portal is not full time. We endeavour to respond as soon as possible.
